Bector-Chandra type duality in fuzzy linear programming with exponential membership functions

چکیده
In this paper, we study a pair of fuzzy primal–dual linear programming problems and calculate duality results using an aspiration level approach. We use an exponential membership function, which is in contrast to the earlier works that relied on a linear membership function. As the fuzzy environment causes a duality gap, we investigate how choosing the exponential membership function impacts this gap. This issue is particularly important for fuzzy linear programming where, in general, the primal and dual objective values may not be bounded. © 2009 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Exponential membership function and duality gaps for I-fuzzy linear programming problems
Fuzziness is ever presented in real life decision making problems. In this paper, we adapt the pessimistic approach tostudy a pair of linear primal-dual problem under intuitionistic fuzzy (I-fuzzy) environment and prove certain dualityresults. We generate the duality results using exponential membership and non-membership functions to represent thedecision maker’s satisfaction and dissatisfacti...
متن کاملFUZZY GOAL PROGRAMMING TECHNIQUE TO SOLVE MULTIOBJECTIVE TRANSPORTATION PROBLEMS WITH SOME NON-LINEAR MEMBERSHIP FUNCTIONS
The linear multiobjective transportation problem is a special type of vector minimum problem in which constraints are all equality type and the objectives are conicting in nature. This paper presents an application of fuzzy goal programming to the linear multiobjective transportation problem. In this paper, we use a special type of nonlinear (hyperbolic and exponential) membership functions to ...
متن کاملOn duality in linear programming under fuzzy environment
A pair of linear primal-dual problems is introduced under fuzzy environment and appropriate results are proved to establish the duality relationship between them. Possible extensions are also suggested.
متن کاملDuality in linear programming with fuzzy parameters and matrix games with fuzzy pay-o(s
A dual for linear programming problems with fuzzy parameters is introduced and it is shown that a two person zero sum matrix game with fuzzy pay-o(s is equivalent to a primal-dual pair of such fuzzy linear programming problems. Further certain di6culties with similar studies reported in the literature are discussed.
